Inbox clean-up, made fun

Your inbox,
lighter by lunch.

Emails are boring, sweeping is fun.

Sweep ranks everyone filling your inbox, then lets you unsubscribe and clear them out one card at a time. It runs on your computer, so your emails never go anywhere else.

Free during early access · No ads, ever · Gmail, Outlook, AOL, Yahoo, iCloud and more

Sweep's Quick Sweep screen showing one sender, Pixel Social, with 590 emails and buttons to keep, sweep unread, sweep all, or unsubscribe and sweep. The sidebar shows the demo inbox is 51% lighter.
How it works

Three steps to a lighter inbox

No new account, nothing to configure. Connect, look, sweep.

Connect your mailbox

Gmail, Outlook, AOL, Yahoo, iCloud or any email that supports IMAP. Sweep connects straight from your computer to your email provider.

See who's filling it

Every sender, ranked by how much they send you and how much of it you never open. People, company inboxes and newsletters are labelled for you.

Sweep, one card at a time

Keep them, sweep them, or unsubscribe and sweep in one go. Thousands of emails gone in minutes, with confetti.

Made for the satisfying bit

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Quick Sweep, at keyboard speed

One sender at a time. Arrow down to sweep, up to unsubscribe, right to skip, left to go back. You'll be done before the kettle boils.

↑Unsub ←Back ↓Sweep →Skip

Unsubscribe in a click

Sweep uses the sender's one-click unsubscribe, sends the unsubscribe email for you, or finds the link hidden in their emails.

Sweep by subject

Similar subjects are grouped, so you can clear every “Your order has shipped” at once, and protect the ones you want to keep.

Undo anything

Changed your mind? Every sweep can be undone. Nothing is ever permanently deleted: it all goes to your Trash.

Read without being tracked

Open any email inside Sweep. Tracking images stay blocked until you choose, and reading doesn't mark anything as read.

All your inboxes

Sign in to more than one mailbox and switch between them. Each keeps its own history.

Know who's who

Every sender is labelled: a real person, a company's shared inbox, or something automated. People are left out of Quick Sweep unless you add them, so you never sweep your mum by mistake.

Private by design

Your emails never reach us.

Many inbox cleaners process your email on their own servers. Sweep doesn't have any. It runs on your computer and talks to your email provider, and that's it.

Runs on your computer

Your emails go straight from your email provider to your Mac or PC. Your password goes only to your provider, too.

No ads. Ever.

There will never be adverts in Sweep. No analytics, no tracking, no Sweep account. Nobody reads your email to sell you things.

You are not the product

Sweep is made to be useful and fun, not to make money from your inbox. Nothing about you is ever sold.

  1. Right-click the download, choose Extract All, and keep the Sweep folder somewhere handy like Documents.
  2. Open the folder and double-click Sweep.
  3. If Windows says it can't verify the app, click More info → Run anyway.
  4. Sweep adds itself to your Start menu for next time.

The Windows version is brand new. If anything goes wrong, a screenshot helps a lot.

Questions

Good to know

Can you see my emails?

No. Sweep runs on your computer and connects straight to your email provider. There's no Sweep server for your emails to go to, so we never see them. Read exactly what Sweep connects to.

Does Sweep delete my emails?

It moves them to your Trash (or Junk, if you choose), never deletes them for good. Every sweep has an Undo button, and your email provider keeps Trash for a while after that too.

Why does Google say Sweep can “permanently delete” my email?

That's Google's standard wording for full access to a Gmail mailbox, the kind every email app gets, including Apple Mail and Outlook. We can't change it. Sweep never deletes anything: swept emails go to your Bin, and Undo brings them back.

Does opening an email in Sweep mark it as read?

No. Emails stay exactly as they were, and tracking images stay blocked unless you choose to show them.

Which email providers work?

Gmail, Outlook (including Hotmail, Live and Microsoft 365), AOL, Yahoo, iCloud, and any provider that supports IMAP (most do).

What's an app password?

A separate password your email provider makes just for one app, so Sweep never needs your main password. You can delete it any time to cut Sweep off. AOL, Yahoo and iCloud need one (Gmail and Outlook just sign in with Google or Microsoft), and Sweep's sign-in screen links you to the right page.

Why does my Mac warn me when I first open it?

This early version isn't signed by Apple yet. That's coming before Sweep's full launch, and then it will open straight away like any other app.

Will Sweep ever show ads or sell my data?

Never. You are not the product: Sweep is made to be useful and fun, not to make money from your inbox. No ads, no tracking, and nothing about you is ever sold.

How much does it cost?

Sweep is free during early access.
